Turn any screen into a
split-flap display
The most faithful split-flap ever put on a screen. Photoreal flaps, sound engineered from the real machine, live channels, and a documented API — running in the browser your TV already has. No app store, no sideloading, no $3,499 hardware.
Free board generator
Type something. Watch it flip.
Then share it — anyone who opens your link sees your message flip on a fullscreen board. No account, no watermark.
Tip: color your words with {red}…{/}, drop a color chip with
{chip:yellow}, or go bold with {b}…{/b}.
The five things no other board does
Obsessively faithful. Actually useful.
01 / READABILITY
Readable from across the room
Same message, same tiles. Ours reads at a glance because we chose a condensed display face and tightened everything until it filled the flap. No competitor publishes their font metrics. Ours are a feature:
- Glyphs fill 78% of flap height
- Tile gap locked at 6% — never a gappy grid
- 3:4 flap ratio, matched to the letterforms
- Contrast ratio ≥ 7:1 in every theme
02 / DENSITY
Four presets. Zero grid fiddling.
SplitFlap TV makes you hand-tune rows and columns, then warns you dense grids hurt legibility. Festaboard is welded to 6×22. Deckboard derives the grid from your actual screen: pick Ultimate, High, Medium or Low and the box-to-font ratio stays perfect at every size. Try it — press a button and watch the board re-tile.
03 / PHOTOREALISM
Flaps, not flat rectangles
Real hinge shadows. Real curvature. Flaps that accelerate, slap down and settle, with the light behaving the way it does on a physical Solari board. Every digital competitor renders flat stylized tiles — rendering fidelity is an axis nobody else even competes on. This is the closest thing to a $3,499 Vestaboard without the wall anchors.
04 / SOUND
Engineered from the real machine
Not one looped click sample. Every flap fires a true double-click — release tick, then slap — panned in stereo across the board, cascading into the natural decrescendo of a real departure board as columns settle one by one. With a volume slider, not just on/off. Close your eyes and it's an airport.
05 / AUTO-TILING
Fits any screen. Automatically.
Tiles are added as your window grows; when the next row or column doesn't quite fit, a symmetric letterbox border holds the frame until it does — then it snaps in. Portrait, landscape, ultrawide, a phone, a 65-inch TV: no fixed 6×22 grid, no rows-and-columns config, no thinking. Watch the demo breathe.
Channels
Boards that update themselves
Clock, weather, countdowns, news, crypto, menus, KPIs — even famous poker hands replayed street by street. All channels included, free to use.
One board, many rooms
Where people hang a Deckboard
Café menu
Prices flip the moment they change. Breakfast board at 8, cocktails at 6 — scheduled, not retyped.
Office KPI wall
Pipe live numbers from any JSON feed or push them with one curl. The whole team hears the wins land.
Event countdown
Launches, weddings, race day. Fullscreen countdown with the clatter of a real departure board.
Home ambient
Clock, weather and the occasional love note on the living-room TV. The prettiest idle screen ever shipped.
Hotel welcome
Departure-board welcomes for guests and events. Rotate names automatically, like the lobby deserves.
For developers
A real API. Actually documented.
Vestaboard gates its docs behind a request form. SplitFlap TV doesn't publish endpoints at all. Ours is one curl away — push anything to any board from a script, a cron job, or your CI pipeline.
# flip a message onto your board from anywhere curl -X POST https://api.deckboard.party/api/boards/YOUR_BOARD_ID/show \ -H "Authorization: Bearer dck_YOUR_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"type":"message","text":"ORDER UP {yellow}42{/}"}' # → {"ok":true,"seq":118}
